Finaly after an absence of 8 years a new Airman with old Airman looks was produced.
The fifth generation Airman was born and for the first time a generation gap occured. The first descendant of this generation was no longer willing to dress as purist 24 hour watch but disguised him self as GMT watch.
Glycine had fallen of his fate so to say. The mechanical watch tide had turned for the better but was there a market for the 24 hour watch?
In the beginning Glycine didn't think so.
Phone calls, letters and e-mails made them change there minds and in 1999 a purist version was made available.
It is a great looking watch and for many it has the perfect size.
(The days of the large watches had yet to come)
The characteristics second crown was not used for setting the outer bezel and newly designed hands gave away the hour.
This model was in production for 8 years and already it is a sought after modell.
Tribute to this great timepiece that marks the start of a large new generation airmans that followed in his footsteps.
