Tutorial for Tachymeter, Pulsometer and Telemeter
Tutorial provided by "G.I." from the WatchUseek forum
TACHYMETER: Used to measure speed, production rate etc. 1. We covered 1km in 53sec timed with the chronograph. 2. We set the 10 on the outer white scale against 53 on the inner black scale. 3. The magic number is 36 on the inner scale, against it there's 68 on the outer scale, so the speed was 68km per hour. |
PULSOMETER: Used to measure heart rate. 1. We counted 30 heartbeats in 14.5sec timed with the chronograph. 2. We set the 10 on the outer scale against 14.5 on the inner scale. 3. The magic number is 18 (for 30 pulsations) on the inner scale, against it there's 12.4 on the outer scale, so the heart rate was 124 beats per minute. |
TELEMETER: Used to measure distance based on the speed of sound. 1. We timed 5sec between a lightning and its sound with the chronograph. 2. The magic number is 34 on the outer scale (because the sound of speed is ~340m/sec), we set it against 10 on the inner scale. 3. We locate 50 (for 5) on the inner scale, against it there's 17 on the outer scale, so the distance from the storm is 1.7km. |
